Ann Hedreen & Rustin Thompson

Ann Hedreen is a writer, producer and director.  She has won many Emmy awards during her career, which has spanned film, television, radio, print and public affairs. Her film, Quick Brown Fox, won a Nell Shipman award for Best Documentary, has been broadcast internationally and is distributed by Women Make Movies.  She has just completed a memoir, Her Beautiful Brain.  Ann earned her M.F.A. in creative writing at Goddard College and her B.A. at Wellesley College. A Seattle native, she is a recent alumna of the Hedgebrook center for women writers and a member of Women in Film Seattle. Ann began her career at the City News Bureau of Chicago.

Rustin Thompson is an independent filmmaker with more than 29 years experience as a director, cameraman, editor, and writer.  He has earned several Emmy and photojournalism awards, including an Emmy for his producing and camerawork on a CBS News Special Report from North Korea.  His documentary, 30 Frames A Second, won numerous Best Documentary awards at film festivals nationwide, and is distributed by Cinetic and Bullfrog Films.   He is also a film critic for KBCS.FM and writes about films as The Restless Critic.  He is the host of two music shows as well on KBCS, the popular Americana program, Roadsongs and the Thursday edition of The Outskirts.  Rustin is a graduate of the University of Washington.
