Consulting

White Noise Productions now offers a consulting service that can advise you at any stage of your production. Whether you're a first-time filmmaker or an experienced veteran, you sometimes want guidance, feedback, or just a chance to bounce your ideas off other filmmakers. You're also probably working on a small budget and unsure of what you should be spending your money on. Our goal is to actually help you save money by steering you away from expensive and often unnecessary production and post-production costs.

We will listen to your ideas in the pre-production phase and help you define your vision, your audience, and your distribution plans. We will give you advice on production, including interview techniques, shooting, lighting, sound, and crew requirements, both to decrease your production costs and to help you keep the style of the film consistent with your vision. We will offer help in how to screen and log footage and soundbites and how to write a more concise script. We will give you tips on how to organize your footage in editing and how to use music, natural sound, special effects, and, most importantly, transitions, to maintain a subtle flow and a strong point-of-view. We will view your rough cut and write a detailed review of what does and doesn't work in your film so far. And we will look at your fine cut and help you decide what final changes or adjustments need to be made before screening the film for film festival programmers, distributors, the public, or your client.

Rough-cut Completion Review

A comprehensive review of your rough cut includes a detailed critique with suggestions for changes.

Fine-cut Review

A critique of your nearly completed project with thoughts and suggestions on final tweaks.

Full Project Consultation

Includes all of the above in one start-to-finish package.

Our fee for consulting is $150/hour. However, we will make an effort to work within your budget to meet your needs.
